Gimi shut down? Try alternative app “Bomad”

Today I got an email from a lady who was using the Gimi app:

She says it has often been down recently, and now the support is unresponsive. I had Gimi installed on my phone too, so I checked and found the same:

The website was still working, but when I tried clicking the “Download app” link:

I got an error saying the app was no longer available. Perhaps they've achieved their mission? 😜

I left a message asking what’s going on about 8 hours ago (26 May 2025), I’ll update this page if I hear anything back:

Now, I've never actually used Gimi, I only installed it because I wanted to see what Bomad competitors were up to. I honestly don't remember whether it was good or bad. However, the same lady from above seems to think Bomad is a good replacement:
